Our Work

Education

India’s illiteracy rate is one of the highest in the world. ZEST runs a school aiming to help poor children in the small town of Vinukonda. These children are orphans and street children, who cannot afford to go to school.

Education is an important key to break the cycle of poverty in India and offers these children a better life. The Zest School currently employs 3 teachers and provides education using the State curriculum for 80 children. Zest also supplies the books, bags and stationery needed. Most importantly ZEST is teaching and sharing the love of Christ with these children. Zest is the only hope for these children.

Church Planting

The population of India is 1.2 billion. 80% of its people live in 600,000 villages and 60% of people have never heard of Jesus Christ. Zest is aiming to bring the Gospel to the rural villages of Andhra Pradesh. So far Zest has planted 26 churches. 20 pastors and evangelists are working in the villages to disciple 1500 people. Zest wants to plant more churches and revive existing churches in rural villages.

Your generous donations and dedication can help us plant more churches.

ZEST Medical Mission

9 out of 10 people in Indian villages cannot access even the most basic medical care and surgical services. Many people die without going to the doctors. Since 2017, ZEST has been providing financial support for the poor in rural villages to receive adequate medical care and life-changing surgical procedures. It not only brings health but hope as well.

Helping Hands

School Building Project

ZEST is currently using an old mission school building for the school. This building is unsuitable and the school needs find new facilities for its operation. Recently the land has been purchased in the area for this purpose. ZEST is currently raising funds for new building to be built. The total cost of building will be approximately $350,000.

Church Building

The ZEST churches currently meet in people’s homes. As these churches grow they will need their own facilities. This will enable them not only to gather greater numbers of people for worship, but also hold Bible studies and other ministries. These buildings will also become community centres for the villages, offering vocational training, medical clinics and food distribution to people in need. Zest is looking for suitable buildings to purchase.

Sewing Machine Project

To be a destitute, single woman in India can be a difficult and cruel existence particularly if they are a widow or suffering from Aids. A sewing machine is one of the simplest and most effective resources to give these impoverished women, enabling them to earn a respectable living as seamstresses, so they can support themselves and their dependent children.

Telugu Bibles (each) $5

There is a great need for Bibles in the villages. ZEST Evangelical Service funds the purchase of Telugu language Bibles for distribution to new Christians to help them grow spiritually.
